Upside Engineering Ltd. currently has an opportunity for a Junior Piping Drafter to join our established team of professionals in Calgary. Upside has challenging, ongoing career opportunities for drafters.
 
Skills and Experience:

• Engineering design and drafting technology diploma or related technical diploma or certificate;
• Proficient in AutoCAD and AutoPlant;
• Knowledge of 3D design/drafting software would be an asset;
• Working knowledge of discipline specific skills, codes and standard practices;
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills in order to work effectively with other designers, drafters, technicians, and engineers who assist in specific assignments;
• Strong attention to detail, able to self-check and produce accurate designs with the necessary guidance in a timely manner;
• Solid organizational and time management skills, proven ability to meet deadlines; and
• Analytical, decision making and problem solving ability.

 Key Responsibilities:

• With guidance prepare technical drawings; P&IDs, General Arrangement drawings, as well as Isometrics;
• Prepare drawings in accordance to the client’s and industry specifications and under the direction of the senior design lead;
• Self-checking designs for technical accuracy prior to submission;
• Perform 3D modeling as needed:
• Assist senior and intermediate designers in order to meet client schedules;
• Adherence to applicable standards, policies, and procedures; and
• Perform other duties as required.
